For 40 years, the High Desert Museum has been an educational and cultural resource for our region. As a trusted community anchor, the Museum promotes lifelong learning, fosters empathy and understanding, and builds connection. We are accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and are a Smithsonian Affiliate. In recognition of the Museum’s commitment to our community, we were awarded a 2021 National Medal for Museum and Library Service—the highest honor in our field.
The Museum’s exhibitions and programs provide memorable experiences that promote wonder, curiosity and inspiration. This ranges from sitting in the serenity of the pine forest as birds of prey swoop right overhead in the annual Raptors of the Desert Sky program to exploring exhibitions that share stories of the High Desert through art, cultures, history and science. This work is only possible because of generous donors like you!
