The City of Bend is one of the fastest growing mid-size cities in America. This growth has created a housing crisis, displacing our local workforce. In response, Kôr is building 50 affordable and sustainable family-sized homes.
Kôr Community Land Trust provides environmentally sustainable and permanently
affordable homeownership opportunities for those who contribute to the fabric of the
Central Oregon economy. These are working families who can qualify for a
mortgage but cannot afford to purchase a home on the rising market when their own
wages remain stagnant. Our homeowner shares the impact of an affordable home that produces enough renewable energy to meet its own energy consumption. “Our net-zero energy home is invaluable in this climate. Our electric bills are $12 a month thanks to our home’s solar panels. The money we are saving on our utility bills is going towards our son’s college savings plan.”
With your help, Kôr can create sustainable, equitable communities where everyone can afford to live where they work. Every $50,000 raised helps build a sustainable home. Donate now to help us reach our $25,000 goal that will be matched by a local family!
