Faced with division and conflict, many Oregonians are seeking connection and opportunities for dialogue with one another. Oregon Humanities offers conversation, storytelling, and participatory programs that inspire understanding and collaborative change. We envision an Oregon that invites diverse perspectives, explores challenging questions, and strives for just communities.
For more than fifty years, Oregon Humanities has engaged people from all corners of the state with conversation programs, an award-winning magazine, and digital media that explore the thoughts, perspectives, and experiences of Oregonians, especially those who have been ignored, generalized, or oppressed.
With programs in Central Oregon and statewide, we offer hundreds of public conversations and programs, train and support dozens of discussion leaders, and award tens of thousands of dollars in grants to organizations that—like us—believe in the power of people listening, learning, and struggling together.
Oregon Humanities is a partner of the Oregon Cultural Trust and an independent nonprofit partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
