The Education Foundation for Bend-La Pine Schools

The Education Foundation for Bend-La Pine Schools mobilizes community resources to fund programs beyond the normal school funding at the 36 schools within the Bend-La Pine School District and bridges the gap to the business community. Our mission is to prepare our students for success and the future through educational and extra-curricular opportunities. For over 30 years, the Education Foundation has positively impacted the work of our teachers and the lives of thousands of children. Since 2003, the Foundation has invested over $1.6 million into local public schools through endowments, special projects, and programs.
On an annual basis, the Education Foundation provides Classroom Grants for innovative, research based, academically proven programs related to STEM, art and music in classrooms, and wellness/mental health. Grant requests from high-need schools with a large population of students on Free & Reduced Lunch are given priority. Another main program is Activity Fee Scholarships which provide financial aid for students who wish to participate in after school sports, but do not have the funds. Additionally, the Education Foundation provides Perseverance Award Scholarships to graduating seniors who have overcome difficult life challenges and have future educational plans, as well as, Latino Scholarships in collaboration with other local non-profits.
